I took it home and threw it in my art supply bin and quickly forgot about it. Earlier this year I was ambling around in my basement and came across the long lost bag of cut out gems. I ran up to my kid’s room and rummaged through their art supplies until I found an abstract shape stamp set I gifted my daughter for Christmas the year prior. “Stole” is a strong word. I’d like to think of it as “borrowed enough to earn the ability to keep” → ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The series View From Somewhere emerged out of deep sadness, grief, reflection and the desire to find the light and the much needed vibrant saturation in the darkest spaces. What started in a small ziplock bag grew into an obsession with vintage books and magazines that I draw inspiration from and an ever growing stamp and ink pad collection.
