Art Direction

Overall, Graypants had a relatively established vision and tone when I was hired. They often collaborated with a variety of very talented photographers that each had their own style which led to a range of stylistic approaches when showcasing their products. As I was brainstorming design concepts for the upcoming 2022 Lookbook, we realized that there were a ton of products that needed updated photo assets to support the look and feel we were beginning to finalize. My director and I collaborated on gathering examples and inspiration to craft a vision of each product shoot.

As the days counted down til our marathon photo shoot the entire studio brought in pieces of furniture, rugs, decor, and everything in between to give us variety when designing each set during the photo shoot. I couldn’t be happier with the final product! It made crafting the Lookbook such an enjoyable experience when you get to work with beautiful imagery.

2022 Lookbook

Each year Graypants releases a Lookbook to showcase all of their gorgeous products and architecture projects. It’s such a treat designing for print. Most of the work I’ve done throughout my career has been focused on digital experiences, so to be able to physically hold something I’ve spent hours upon hours designing on a computer is such a special feeling.

Since Graypants is an international company (they have an office in Amsterdam) we chose a to use an A4 format which has a slightly larger dimensions compared to the more standard US magazines / booklet size.
